Purpose and Agenda

Purpose

State of the Union in Support of Domestic Fisheries

Purpose

Provide a current overview of the nation's wild domestic fisheries and related seafood industries from production through processing and retail services with intentions to serve as a benchmark for planning more effective programs and support in response to maintaining a Safe, Sustainable Supply.

Products

Conference to advance national awareness and planning, plus yield a 'position paper' that can be used by our representatives, industry, agencies and programs concerned and aligned to support the nation's commercial seafood industry.

Approach

The annual 2009 SST Conference is dedicated to this assignment in cooperation with the National Sea Grant College Program's Focus Team for Safe, Sustainable Seafood Supply and accompanying sponsors that share mutual concerns.

Audience

Persons and programs, particularly the respective State Sea Grant and outreach programs, agencies and pertinent researchers across the nation.
